Bakarameistarinn was established in January 1977. Bakarameistarans owners from the beginning are the couple Sigþór Administrator bakarameistari and conquer Stefánsdóttir. Our first bakery opened 18 February 1977 in Suðurveri which was revolutionary at the time as those commonly found in Reykjavik shops in this area that was kind of a fusion of the old bakery and milk.

photo-1From the outset it was clear that Bakarameistarinn would be at the forefront of it immediately began to introduce innovations for our customers. In this connection mention coarse bread line that we introduced for Iceland in cooperation with the German company. Another innovation that we introduced for Iceland's whole wheat angle to name a few.

Soon were set specific goals: to be at the forefront of innovative and robust product development work, have a large inventory (bread, cakes, pastries), speed and reliable service, good professionals in the pack and, last but not least, using only quality ingredients to create quality products. These issues have always divided us most.

bakarameistarinnThe company has changed a lot the last 10 years, all facilities have been renovated and machinery is very perfect. In addition, by now five bakeries in the capital and one in Kópavogi.

Staff has grown from 20 employees in 1977 to over 180 people. In the future there will be no change in objectives Bakarameistarans. We serve you!
